Cellular One--Contract switching (Reply to this comment)
by gdillard72
I,too, am very displeased with Cellular One. Cellular One has switched my service WITHOUT notification 3 times in the last 4 years. Each time, the plan was worse than the original plan. They would "fix" the error and refund some of my money.
My question: How come if I want to upgrade my plan, I have to sign a contract extension, but Cellular One can change my plan to a more expensive one without my permission? I also inquired about canceling my service and was informed that I am under contract for another year and would be charged $200 as a penalty.

Sounds like real bad service. (Reply to this comment)

Well, your experience has been different than mine with Cellular One.
My bill is always about $35 per month but I do not use it outside my "home calling area". I do not exceed my minutes per month. I thought it was well known that all cell phone calls are rounded up to the next full minute, eg. 1 minute and 10 seconds would be charged at 2 minutes.
Anyhow, you should pay the penalty and go with another carrier if you find the service as bad as you described. Salesmen lie all the time, no matter what company you deal with, I am sure.
