Cons: Batteries die fast- watch out, get NiMH
The Bottom Line: This player was in the first wave of its kind of technology and is still bringing music into my life. It was a great investment.

When I first saw this online, I was very excited and worried at the same time. I knew I was definitely going to purchase it, and the price was outstanding! If I knew then how great this MpTrip is, I would have probably paid double.
At the time I was in need of Discman, so I was searching online. Somehow I came across Easybuy2000.com . This was a miracle. I don't remember now how I found it, but finding it was one of the luckiest things I have ever done. Anyway, I was scared of ordering it online. I have had bad past experiences of using my Credit Card online, mostly because the things take a very long time to get shipped to me. Not with Easybuy2000! I got it in less than 2 weeks.
Here is how the MpTrip works differently from normal CD players. To make a normal CD, you need to convert all of the MP3's to waves, and then burn them onto the CD which in itself can be a drag. It takes you a while to convert them and find them right? Well the basic concept of this MpTrip is that it is sort of like a mini computer, that is, it can read the actual Mp3's off of a CD, unlike the normal CD players!
So compare an Mp3 to a Wav File. Mp3's are like a 10th of the size. So in theory you can fit 10 CD's Worth of Music onto the 750 MB CD that the MpTrip can read. I can get like 155 songs on the CD, and play them on the MpTrip player.
The MpTrip player is a nice shiny silver-gold color (that seems to change in different light?!). It comes with an AC adaptor for when you are inside, so you can listen to music in your home without draining the batteries (which go very fast). It comes with sweet earbud headphones, which in my opinion are the best because they are low profile, and you dont lose the much of the volume because it goes directly into your ear. It is also good for sharing with your friends.
You can even make different files for different categories of music on the CD, so you can listen to different music at different times. And you don't want to waste CD's? Cool. Use Rewritable ones! It can handle those as well.
Now compare this MpTrip to a normal portable Mp3 player. Well first of all it costs much less than most Mp3 players. And it holds more than 10 times the music that a normal Mp3 player can. And can you play a normal CD on a portable Mp3 player? Nope! Well you can on this one. And did I mention 50 second electronic shock protection? There are so many reasons why to love this musical library, I can't see any reason (besides not owning a CDR drive) that you wouldnt fall in love too! Good Luck!
Update 5-26-02 It has now been 3 years since I bought this piece of equipment and is still one of the best investments I have ever made. It allows me to play 150 songs from one CD. Think of the possibilities. The Mixing Power is endless.
