Great CD changer!

Jan 11 '00

I bought my Sony CDP C5F back in 1989 (a floor model even!) and it's still going strong! One of my best friends in college had this Sony CD changer and when I started looking, I wouldn't settle for anything less!

I like to listen to some of my music LOUD, and this thing is so stable, it rarely skips. I've logged thousands of hours (maybe even a million!) on this player and it just won't die! It is starting to die though, but it's not the player itself, but the mechanism that moves the carousel tray in and out when you change cd's. I've had to gently pry the tray open while pressing the "open/close" button. My friend had the same problem and he fixed his and got another year or 2 out of it before his finally gave up the ghost.

I really like this changer, but I will be getting one that will also play DVD's within the next year. I might try to keep this thing around and keep some of my absolute favorite cd's in it. I hate to let it go after almost 11 years!

The thing that annoys me the most about this player is that you cannot listen to a cd while you change cd's. This has been corrected in new models by most of the manufacturers.
