| pravinkn's Full Review: RIM Blackberry Two Way Pager |
I have been using the RIM Blackberry E-mail pager for the past 3 months.Being a Systems Administrator , I need to be alerted immediately
if anything goes wrong.
The Blackberry Wireless E-mail service has been doing that job of receiving e-mail alerts. The best thing I like about it is that I can send e-mail from anywhere ,even while driving a car.In an emergency it is very useful ,if you need to alert many people at the same time.
The second feature that I liked is that it does not beep when in the holster, it vibrates .So , people around you are not disturbed ,if you are in a public place.
Now about the 2 features that I would really like to see in this pager !
First , It should have a background illumination to read the messages when it is dark.I have to bring the pager under some light to read at night.Secondly , the beep is of very low volume ,even when set to maximum level. At night , if you are a sound sleeper , that low volume beep may not wake you up.
Also I would like readers to be aware that the reception is not that good.
Sometimes I have to move the pager one feet left or right, before I can
receive the e-mails.Sometimes I receive the second e-mail before Ireceive the first; often after a delay of 10-15 minutes.
It is a good handy and convenient device ,but I think it is in for a good competition.
