| daklown's Full Review: Pioneer D-3500K/Q |
When we purchased our Pioneer system, we had no preference as to make, model, manufacturer or any other specifics. We headed down to our local electronics outlet intent upon purchasing a new stereo with CD player. Mind you, we didn't want just any CD player. We wanted one that would handle a minimum of 5 or more CD's.
Our system is the precursor to this model. Same Tuner, same excellent speakers, same Dolby system, but the CD player is a 100 disc unit which
has four racks that are accessed individually to swap discs among the 25 in each of them. We're considering upgrading to the new unit, but this one works so well, we'd hate to part with it.
Of course, the CD player wasn't the only reason we wanted a new and better stereo system. We also have a 52 inch Television with surround sound but felt that it could stand a little improvement. So the other important feature required from the new stereo was surround sound capability and the connections to link it to our video system. This system fit the bill perfectly and provides unbelievable sound that fills the room and makes you feel as though you're in the middle of a theatre.
We had the pleasure of seeing the movie "Twister" at the theater and being enthralled with the sights and sounds as we sat almost dead center of the screen and room. As the twister tore towards us onscreen we felt as though we were there, directly in it's path, about to be tore by it's fierce winds. Now we've also had the pleasure of seeing this same movie on our home system, with the Pioneer connected and active. Anywhere in the room, you have the best seat in the house. Surrounded by the sound, you get the same feeling that was there, racing your heart, flooding your mind, as you sat center screen in the theatre. Impressive seems too mild a descriptive word for this system.
Whether you select this system or another of the Pioneer brand, you won't regret your decision. Pioneer builds the best equipment we've ever owned. This is our fourth stereo system. Admittedly, the most expensive we purchased, but well worth the price. Of the previous systems, one managed to live on for another year in our daughter's possession before it began to fail. The others had each been replaced due to failures of one type or another. Two of the previous were of the same brand, purchased because of price rather than quality.
It took all of 30 minutes to set this system up and have it providing the excellent sounds we had expected. The connection to our other systems took slightly longer (about 2 hours because the directions with the satellite system weren't real clear about the best way to set this up) but the results were well worth the time and effort.
Think of all the descriptive words praising a manufacturers product and you could apply nearly every one to this system - it's that good.
