before getting an MP3 player you should ask yourself a few questions.
1) do I like to listen to music when I am doing work, but don't want the hassle of loading a CD.
2) is skipping through all the CD tracks a pain, just to find one song.
if you have answered yes to both of these, than definitely get an MP3 player. MP3 players are definitely a great thing to have, even more so if you do allot of work on your computer. spending many hours working in front of a blaring boring screen can be a pain. music will definitely create a little spark at your work place.
MP3 players are great because there is no loading a CD. there is no search aimlessly around your paper cluttered work space for the favorite song on that one CD. with an MP3 player, it is as easy as a double click of a mouse. so my advice, download an MP3 player, and download that favorite song of yours. get some nice speakers, and look at work as singing lessons, not a pain in the a55.
