This is one fantastic gift in a surprisingly small package. My wife and I decided to take the plunge to satellite TV by signing up with DirecTV from Hughes Electronics. This dual mode dish has exceeded even our highest expectations.
First of all, it was quite easy to set up. Granted, professional installers installed it for us, but I watched what they were doing and it would be easy to duplicate. In fact, I plan to install and configure it myself when we move from our current location.
Second, the dish is quite small and doesn't take up nearly as much space as I anticipated. It sits very nicely in a corner of our balcony and leaves us enough room to enjoy the balcony as we always have.
Third, the dual mode enables different TVs in one's home to watch different channels at the same time. This, as any parent can imagine, is a very nice feature! Of course, you would need to have multiple receivers in order to utilize this feature, but it's nice to know you can in any event.
Finally, the picture is crystal clear.
I just love my dish; I'll never ever ever go back to cable.
