| jhcashman's Full Review: Creative Labs Nomad II (64MB) MP3 Player |
if you are in the market for an MP3 player and are considering the Rio 500 THEN THINK AGAIN! Diamond Multimedia's Rio was the first MP3 player but it is far from the best. The Nomad to has more features at a similar price.
Here are some key features
similar to the rio:
1) The Nomad II comes with 64MB and you can add either and addition 32MB or 64MB.
2) The Nomad II uses the USB port to transfer files which is plain less and fast.
3) The Nomad II has MusicMatch the standards in MP3 software.
4) Creative Labs is an outstanding name in computer audio
5) looks great in chrome casing and is size of a beeper
Extra Features
1) built in FM tuner with 32 station presets which is great if you get tired of the same songs over and over again between computer hook ups.
2) voice recording which is always helpful and gives u and excuse to use it in school :)
3) Large, icon-based LCD screen with backlight
4) Wired remote control
5) If you have Sound Blaster Live! card you can add Environmental Audio effects to your audio contents and download them onto NOMAD II.
I highly recommend this over the RIO 500 since it has all the features of the Rio plus more at relatively the same price. The only cons is that is doesn't come in IMAC colors but personally i like the chrome silver better. The list price is around $270 but look at auction sites and sites like mobshop or mercata to get it for less.
