| bmason's Full Review: Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 Mini System |
Thinking about the Bose Wave Radio? Forget it. The Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 beats the Bose hands down in the sound test and costs only about half as much!
The sound that emanates from this shoebox-sized contraption must be heard to believed. It sounds enormous, with an incredibly deep and precise low end, natural sounding midrange and wonderful highs. You will be amazed that such great sound comes from such a small package. (Although the thing is HEAVY; obviously its well-build and solid.)
Pluses:
* The sound!
* The remote; its very thin, credit-card sized and controls all major functions.
* The FM tuner is amazing and pulls in the faintest signals.
Minuses:
* The clock costs $50 extra. What a rip off!
* If you put the Model 88 in sleep mode and then change the volume or station, you have to reset the sleep countdown.
* The display does not dim.
