I have been a cell phone user for 8 years and believe it or not, have only had to purchase one phone. Well, it finally quit working and I was forced to purchase another one. I picked the Audiovox CDM-4000 mainly for it's small size and extended talk/standby times but have been very impressed with all of the features it has. I thought that I would never figure out how to work a phone with so many functions (remember my old phone was 8 years old and didn't have a lot of bells and whistles) but I was amazed how easy the phone was to operate and program.
My favorite feature is "quick" dialing. With my old phone I had to look away from the road to dial a number, but with this phone you can program 8 numbers that you dial frequently for "quick" dialing and then all you have to do is hold down a number (2-9) for 1 second and it dials the number for you. You can also program 99 numbers with names into the phonebook (but who has that many friends!). The #1 button is saved for one touch emergency calling. This feature allows you to dial 911 by only pushing one key and you can do this even if "phone lock" or "Restrict" mode is on. This is a great feature if you ever need it (and hopefully you won't).
Other features I enjoy are keypad lock, Caller ID, Automatic Talk Timer, Call Waiting, Three-Way Calling, Scratch Pad Memory, Date and Time display and 15 ringing tones (including melodies) which can be programmed to ring differently for different phonebook addresses.
Overall I would recommend this phone to anyone that was in the market for a new cell phone. The price and the quality of the phone make this phone a great deal!
