I purchased this product in Feb of 1998 for 1000.00. I have used it daily for almost 2 years without functioning problems. This camcorder is very well built and has several useful features. The 3.5 inch screen is a good size and allows you to view segments (picture as well as sound) immediately after its recording. The 2 hr battery it came with is still going strong. Other features worth noting include special effects such as fading, steady shot and night vision capability. I especially enjoy the ability to connect easily to our home VCR for family viewing or for making copies of special events onto standard VHS tapes. Each segment recorded is "stamped" with the date the first time it is used in a particular day. I have no comments on customer service as I have never had to contact them. I highly recommend this camcorder for all ages.
