Philips Aeon Cellphone - Ever heard of it ? (*Updated*)Jan 04 '01 (Updated Nov 24 '01) Write an essay on this topic.
Popular Products in Cellular Phones
The Bottom Line Don't mess with Philips' phones, stick with a well known brand (i.e. Nokia or Motorola).
Less than a year ago I decided to get a digital cell phone. I went to Cellular One who was offering a promotion at that time. The selection of phones was good, and the best looking deal to me was the cheapest one ($1 I think is what they charged with a 2 year agreement). The phone was just as small as the more expensive models and had just as many useful features (talk time, 100 number alpha-numeric memory). Now that I have had the phone for a few months I am looking for accessories for the phone (hands free kit, car power cord, etc.). The problem is that no has any! Most places I go to have never heard of the phone that I have. I recently went to the Cellular One dealer where I had gotten the phone and was told that they no longer carry the phone or any accessories. My advise is to stay away from Philips' cell phones and stick with a more well known brand like Nokia or Motorola. Update - On 08/2001 our Philips Aeon phone quit working it will no longer hold any kind of charge on the battery and will not even turn on. I know that it could be the battery but I am not going to spend the money to find out, and I doubt that you could even find a battery for one of these phones. |
