| shivohum's Full Review: HeadRoom AirHead |
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 580's, which are impossible to run off portable CD players well. So the airhead ($179) is a great cheap solution to give them volume and better bass. For a high impedance headphone like the Sennheisers, an amp like the airhead is imperative with portable CD players, and I am glad that I got mine from Headroom (http://www.headphone.com/). They are friendly people who have a great web page. They know their headphones.
As for the famed Headroom processor, I don't notice much difference, but perhaps that's because I listen mostly to classical. I hear the processor doesn't make so much difference there.
The airhead runs for 15 hours on a pair of AA batteries.
They're also extremely small and light.
