This phone is good value for the cost. I use it about 6 hours a day in two 3 hour long phone calls with about 2 hours between each call. The battery seems to have no problem with this schedule. So far, I've had it for about 3 months and have had no show-stopping problems with it. I use the headset. The sound quality is adequate.
I find that occasionally there is a lot of static on the line. Usually changing channels fixes that. Probably someone else in the neighborhood is using a 900 MHz cordless. If changing channels doesn't solve the static problem, whacking the handset into my open palm does.
When I turn the volume switch on the side to high volume, I get feedback on the headset, but this never happens on the low volume setting. The low volume setting is usually adequate if the person I'm talking to doesn't get too far from his speakerphone.
The range is about 1 city block from the base station.
I like the layout of the base station. The handset slides into the charging position and stays there, unlike my other cordless phone where I have to prop the base station up to tilt it so that the handset doesn't slide out of the charging position.
