These are the best cordless phones out there

Nov 09 '99

I have owned 2 Panasonic 900Mhz cordless phones in my time, and have loved both of them. I bought my first one about 4 years ago, before 900Mhz was mainstream. I was the first in my fraternity to own one, and it was kind of like being the first kid with a Nintendo - everyone wanted to play with it. I was amazed on the range, as I could get reception on the dorm steps across the quad. I was even more amazed, when the next year, one of my friends bought a 900Mhz Uniden for his room. His phone had some major problems though - not only was the range not nearly as good as my Panasonic, but the battery life was almost half.

Unfortunately, my first Panasonic was dropped by one of my other "friends" into a cup of half beer, half other random 2-week-old liquids. That put it out of commission, so I bought another. Now that I am out of a fraternity, I don't really have to worry about the liquid incident, so I decided to get a nicer model. I really liked the answering machines that I saw on a couple of the Panasonics, but I realized that I didn't need one, with voice mail being better for my lifestyle. So I purchased a Panasonic with 2-way intercom, a keypad on the base, and caller-ID (including call waiting caller-ID). I absolutely love this phone, and the range is still very good.
