My DRD222RD receiver was purchase as part of a two receiver system package. The DRD222RD receiver is loaded with features that let you control what is viewed and when the receiver can be used. It is very easy to setup and has the following features:
* Dish pointing meter to assist you in getting the best picture possible,
* very versatile remote control that controls many features of your TV, in addition to the receiver (NOTE: it doesn't work with your VCR),
* nice program guide that allows you to view all programs, only movie programs, only sports programs, etc. press the OK button and the program channel is selected,
* timers feature that automatically switches to your selected program when it starts (manually setting up the timer is not as easy as it should be),
* the timer notifies you if you schedule overlapping programs to be viewed,
* allows 5 profiles to be setup (ie. one for family viewing, another for movies, another for sports, etc., where each profile would only show the channels that fit that category,
* Each profile may be optionally locked with a password,
* parental controls that allow restrictions by channel, time of day or program rating (many of the non-movie programs are not rated and the program rating alone may not be adequate),
* with the master password, the restrictions can be unlocked for a specific program or altogether,
* the user's manual that comes with the unit gives a very brief description of how to use each feature, :(
* getting a real person on the RCA support line has proven impossible at this point for me. :(
