Review on RCA Digital Satellite Dish
I live in a rural area where I am supposed to be in a broadcast area but in reality I am unable to view local television without snowy pictures and very poor sound. Because of this I purchased the DSS dish when they first came out. I have also taken it with me in our RV and it is great for reception anywhere.
The DSS satellite dish is small, easy to assemble and provides an excellent picture. There are hundreds of channels to choose from with choices to please any viewer. The price of the monthly service can be very low or very high depending on your own preferences.
The unavailability of local news/weather broadcast channels is a minus but if I lived in an area where I could put up a simple antenna and get local reception, that particular problem would be solved. In the summer there are brief interruptions due to sunspots. It is irritating in the middle of a movie. Severe weather can cause outages.
For the rural viewer like myself, it is still the best answer to cable TV. The C-band satellites were way too large and cumbersome, as well as expensive.
I particularly like the Pay-Per-View movies for $2.99. I don't have to wait for a particular movie at the video store nor do I have to return the movie.
The congress is currently working on the local coverage by satellite and it is looking favorable to the viewer. This will be a big plus for satellite TV.
