A good choice for camcorders!

BILL'S CAMCORDER REVIEW/EDITIORIAL
For a long time, I wanted to get a decent camcorder. Something that was of good quality and reliable, at a good price. I found I could get the best combination from buying an RCA camcorder.
USE
The RCA camcorder is easy to use. The controls are well placed, making operation easy. It has video and audio outs and ins, which is necessary for a good video camera. The video camera itself can be used as a VCR, or be hooked up to one to dub video and audio.
The zoom capability of the camera is excellent. We own an older model that has only a 24x zoom. However, even though it is 24x, the zoom is quite impressive. You can look into the windows of a house far in the distance with quite some quality. (No, I don't do the sort of thing you may think I'm doing!)
Focusing and video quality is also very good. The sound is very good as well.
DURABILITY
I have found out the hard way that the RCA camcorders are pretty durable. Once a winter or two ago I was out walking near our house with the camcorder on some slippery snow. I managed to slip and fall on my behind, with the RCA camcorder on my shoulder. Surprisingly, the camcorder wasn't damaged at all from the shock. The video went fuzzy for a fraction of a second as I hit the ground, but after that it was fine.
BATTERY LIFE
The battery will run the unit for a little less then an hour. This is fine for most users. You can also buy more batteries, or a longer-running two-hour battery if you need one.
CONCLUSION
I think RCA brand camcorders are an excellent choice if you are interested in buying one. Remember that buying a camcorder is a big investment. Be sure to shop around as well, and make sure you are not paying for features you will never use.
