I always thought that spending top dollar for a radar detector meant that I was getting the best protection available. Imagine my surprise when I found myself pulled over by a highway state trooper. The thing that gets me mad is that the detector NEVER went off.
This detector does have a lot of useful features. It does have safety radar (although I've never seen it work), It does have a digital display, and it does do a great job around the city.
Also the bracket that this detector uses to attach to the suction cups is made of plastic. Over time this generated a vibration sound coming from the detector. This isn't a loud sound so listening to music or talking to someone takes care of the problem but when your alone it gets quite annoying.
When I sit down and look at the prices I know the clear decision that I should have made. The Valentine One is the best radar detector that is made. A good friend of mine purchased one for his 1997 corvette and to my surprise he has never been pulled over.
This is a radar detector with good features, they just need to do a little better job at making it do it's job. I now see the difference in price between this detector and the Valentine One made up by one ticket. Do the smart thing and look elsewhere for a good detector.
