| Rocks2k's Full Review: Orion 12" Subwoofer 2NT 12DVC |
Its not a question about if Orion's 2NT 12DVC can handle the power you want to send it, but its if your car can handle the power the 2NT's will deliver.
I recently installed a pair of these in my friends car. I used a small sealed box with about 1.3 cubic feet of air space in each chamber. They were placed in the back of his 93 Honda Civic Hatchback. I have to say that he is now one of the loudest cars in our area with just 2 subs.
I was a bit surprised when I heard the sound that these subs produced. I knew that Orion always made good quality products but this was totally unexpected. The power handling of these subwoofers is great. He has a Phoenix Gold 2500 XS amplifier. I wired the subs for 3 ohms and when connected to the amp it put out 750 watts, so each sub was getting about 375 watts.
The build of these subs is another thing that I like about them. When you pick one of these subwoofers up you can just tell that they were built for high SPL. And when you think of a subwoofer being built for SPL you don't think much of sound quality. That's wrong with the Orion 2NT. The sound quality that these subs deliver is off the chart. I have a lot of experience in the field of car audio and these subs are some of the best i've heard.
If your a person thats looking to have the loudest car on the block, then I would recommend you check out the Orion 2NT's. They are well worth the money that you would pay for them. These subs will provide high end sound that will shake your car apart, while lasting as long as you own them.
