Portable Mp3 players... another glorified excuse to rip you off!

Usual disclaimers apply (!):
Well, they have become cheaper now... Hallelujah!! Well, with the prices of RAM as they are, one would imagine that it wouldn't be that expensive to produce a piece of resin, silicone, copper and plastic that plays MP3s... right???
Oh yeah... they are small, portable, lightweight, have no moving parts... and are so damn limited! Who wants only 64MB of songs, or ever worse 32MB of songs where you could maybe store 25 badly recorded songs.. give me a break! I'll use my discman if I can, thank you.
Portable MP3 players have to be the biggest gyp so far (well, maybe not, but lets not even go there). One ends up paying between $100-200 for something that is limited inherently due to its design. If you decide that you want more songs, you pay through the nose for 'add-on flash RAM cards' that cost much more than they should because someone decided that they want to make some big bucks!
The only decent MP3 player that I can think of is the MamboX. Which plays MP3 CDs. This is a very cool concept, and I have waited a long time for it to happen. Pop in a CD with about 120MP3s in different directories to keep track of all of those musical genres, and guess what? It'll read them, sort the directories, it reads normal CDs, and it has 45sec shock protection... what more could you want?
Well... one can see where I stand. I'm waiting for prices to come down, then maybe I'll buy a portable MP3 player just to go out jogging! Till then, my discmans good enough!
P.S. There is this 10GB car MP3 player that is actually quite cool, however it is very expensive. It runs on Linux.
