| tfung's Full Review: B&W DM604 S2 |
The DM604-S2 is the mid-sized floorstanding model of the 600 Series 2 speaker line. It's a front vented three-way speaker. Priced per pair, these speakers feature a 7-inch woofer, dual 7-inch midranges and 1-inch tweeters in each cabinet. It's recommended that these speakers be driven with 25-200 watts RMS. The size of these speakers makes them appropriate for use as mains in a mid- or large-sized stereo or home-theater listening environment.
The 604 is similar to the less-expensive 603 ($1100/pair list) in that both are floorstanding three-way speakers. The main difference between the two is that the 603 features only one mid-range driver, and as a result handles less power and only delivers bass down to a still-respectable 48 Hz.
