Pros: Fast transfer of digital images to the computer, easy to install and use. Cheap.

Transfer digital photos from digital film cards to your USB compatible desktop system FAST with the USB CameraMate digital film reader. This is great for anyone who wants lightening speed transfer (really fast compared to a direct camera link via USB to the computer), or the household with more than one digital camera...each of which uses a different type of digital media. It works with any USB compatible MAC or PC. It transfers images from digital cameras with speed that literally blows away serial connections and parallel readers. The product literature says that you can also use this to transfer data from notebook and palmtop computers to desktop computers.....but I have never tried it for that.
This product is incredibly easy to use. You just plug it in and get started! It appears as a couple of drives on your PC and you just drag and drop images from the digital film media to the computer or in the reverse. It's really small (like 3X5 inches) so it takes up no space around the computer. I'm particularly happy with mine because we purchased it for only $74 (suggested retail price is $89)!
There are 2 very minor annoyances with this product. First, it appears to have a "read me" file...but the file just says to see the accompanying material (?). Also, it comes with a Quick Start card...and a separate neon colored card which says "ERRATA!" and has slightly different installation instructions for a PC than the Quick Start card!! No matter, the installation is so simple that neither one of these annoyances is a big deal.
