| reddogg911's Full Review: Kenwood KDC-C712 Car CD Changer |
A few months ago, I purchased the step down from the KDC-C712 from Kenwood, the KDC-C711. I honestly don't know what the difference is between the two. So far, I have had zero problems. It won't skip at all, no matter what kind of road surface I go over. Very nice sound, and fairly easy to install if you have the proper tools and a large enough area.
However, there are a few minor downsides to it. First, its size kind of restricts where you can mount it. However, if it's a 10 disk changer you want, you should expect this already. Check out the dimensions prior to buying it and make sure you have a good location to install it. However, I recommend that unless you have done things like this before successfully, let a professional do it.
Next, I don't really care for how each disk has a tray that you place the disk in, then slide the whole tray into the changer. There are other Kenwood models that you just slide the disk in, so there is less chance of getting scratched. That's another thing, the changer is VERY sensitive to scratches. It's kind of annoying. Overall, for the money, it is a very good changer.
