There are SO many Channels

We bought our DirectTV satellite becuase we were sick of the run around we were getting from our cable company, they were calling us every three to six months wanting to change our equipment becuase of one reason or the next, always wanting us to upgrade and charge us an arm and a leg for premium channels. I was fed up with all the garbage and then it was $39 bucks a month for "basic" cable!
Setting up the satellite was the hardest thing that we had to do everything else was a breeze but finding that exact spot in the sky to get the reception was a pain. (If you have your professionally installed it wnt be those guys just know EXACTLY where in the sky to point the satellite.) I know this because a few months after we installed the satellite we had the roof redone and the roofers knocked it loose 2 times and they had a satellite installer come out and fix it.
When we first started out with the satellite we had the "Works" every channel availible. (this was also right after DirectTv merged with USSB) So we had 7 HBO's 5 Starrz and a million other channels. It was one month free then 90 bucks, so we downsized to the 7 HBO's and the 5 Starz channels, and we pay 49.95 a month thats only 10 bucks more than what we were paying for "basic" cable through our cable company. And there arent any annoying customer service representitives to call and bug you in the middle of dinner.
I love that we get Disney east and west, Nickelodeon east and west, plus Toon Disney! With basic cable we got nick and disney but no Toon Disney. And not east and west either. Just west coast channels. I hated that until just a few days ago we didnt get local channels. But it was something I could temporarily live with. Now that we have our local channels I am absolutley pleased as punch with Direct TV, and my Hughes system.
All in all If you want cable with a zing this is the way to go.
