Versatile system, great remote

I wanted a compact but versatile system for the bedroom, and this has filled the bill perfectly. 3 CDs, 3 MDs, full-featured tuner, wake-up timer. My favorite feature is the control unit - you can either leave it attached to the front of the stereo and use it as an ordinary control center, or detach it and use it as a remote. Instead of the usual buttons, it uses knobs for volume and selection. For example, to scan radio stations or disc tracks, you just rotate the selector knob in either direction, a very elegant solution. My only complaint is the "space age" look of the speakers, but I've seen worse. Also, as an audiophile, I found the sound of the speakers to be adequate, but I replaced them with a pair of Paradigm Atoms, which are both better-looking and spectacular-sounding, and I couldn't be happier. A highly recommended system.
