How should YOU choose a VCR?
Jun 02 '00
Hey what's going on?
A VCR is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get. Maybe you want the low price of a two head. Maybe you want the great quality of a 4 head VCR. There are so many to choose from. Maybe you want a DVD player. Well, maybe not yet.
VCR's have been around so long now and it seems to me like they haven't changed all that much. They still play the same things. Right?
Well, I will admit they do look nicer now, and they cost a lot less. That is always a good thing.
I just got a new Emerson VCR and it is great. It was cheap and it came with a remote with glow in the dark buttons. (Great for the dark...DUH)
It records shows with ease and it plays them back with even greater ease.
But maybe Emerson isn't right for you. There are several methods of choosing a VCR. Here are a few guidelines.
1. I suggest that you buy a 4 head VCR. They are getting cheap now and the have very good quality.
2. Pick a name brand. The name brand VCR's seem to last longer.
3. Don't go broke buying a VCR. You can buy a good name brand VCR without going broke. Don't go for those over-priced ones either. (hint: try to buy them when they are on sale).
Well, that is about all. You know, even though VCR's are dominate right now, I don't think that they will be around that much longer. I think that in the near future DVD players will be able to do all the same things that the VCR's do, only better.
Oh yeah, that new TIVO also. (It has a hard drive. It pauses live TV. Check it out)
