Alpine CD players not that hot !!- CDA 7930 by 1richmond | Jan 03 '00 Some people say that Alpine has one of the finest quality products made. I somewhat agree, however I have found some faults in my Alpine CD player.
1- Does not read some self CD-burned discs. I think this is because the discs are not burned deep...Return to opinion

The issue is not Alpine (Reply to this comment)

I run an installation shop for Circuit City, and as an Alpine dealer, I can say that the issues you have with your unit are not manufacturer related. First, I know from first hand experience that the fact that it does not read some burned cd's is an issue with all radios, including some major brands like Eclipse, Sony, and Kenwood. Car stereos don't have the space to include the laser technology home stereos do.In fact, it has been my experience that Alpine units would read more burned cd's than its leading competitors. Second, ALL radios that are not pull-outs (which are no longer made) will lose memory even if you disconnect your battery for a second. And last, you will have problems with any radio whose face you drop, I know this from experience. These items are delicate and were not designed for physical stress of any kind, even with the face cases. So you see, it's not an Alpine issue. Your radio is made by a manufacturer that only makes car products, so you are in good hands as long as you take good care of your Alpine.
