| cmashby's Full Review: Boston Acoustics ProSeries 12.5LF Car Subwoofer Dr... |
I have heard and gone through a lot of Subwoofers including JL Audio, Fosgate, Kenwood, Polk, Orion, Eclipse, Alpine, Vega's, Kicker, MTX, PPI, and Soundstream and these Boston subs are like a dream come true and none of the previously mentioned subs could even come close to comparing themselves to the likes of a 12.5LF for my own purposes. Orion HCCA's came in a close second but I am a sound quality lover so Boston was the only way to go. Rich, smooth, and accurate, oh, and I almost forgot to mention, they hit you like a twenty pound sledgehammer! Some say "they're not as loud as other subs" and they are correct. Boston subs are for serious audio enthusiasts, they are not designed to be slammed into a pre-fab bandpass box and tried to break the SPL record.
These subs are incredibly loud with the proper power behind them. Small sealed encloures are what these are designed for, but I have heard from a select few people who own them that they have configured different enclosures and are quite happy with the results.
All I can say is "WOW", and if you really care about your car audio sound quality and have the money to spend, there really is no other choice.
