I've had this phone a year now, and paid about $50 for it when I signed up for Verizon cellualar service at The Wiz here in Westchester County NY. The phone is thin and very lightweight because it uses a Lithium Ion battery. This battery is much lighter than the older style NiMh still used on some phones, and I have found the phone can be left on during the daytime for about 4 days without needing a charging, but overall that will depend on how much the phone is used during that time. The more the phone is used, the quicker it will need to be recharged. The phone is a dual mode model, meaning it will work with both digital and analog phone service. When you are in areas that only have analog service, battery consumption really increases as the phone has to transmit with more tower to reach a cell.
About the only serious drawback I have found with the phone is that you cannot make the speaker volume loud enough. It is very hard to hear the person you are speaking to. This can't be just my hearing, because my wife also has this phone and she has complained about it too. Recently I have started to use a Plantronics hands free headset with the phone in hopes it would make it easier to hear, but the volume is still to low as compared to the Motorola phones that were also available for Verizon service. If I had my choice again, I would probably have gotten the Motorola instead because of this.
