The HiFonics Z440 is a high-powered car amplifier aimed at the common enthusiast with a budget, but of quality rarely seen (or heard) by consumers. It delivers a solid 55 watts RMS to each of 4 channels (110 watts each by most other audio company ratings) or 220 RMS (440 peak) to 2 channels bridged. Personally, I think that they gave the lowest readings they obtained on it. This monster of an amp can be had for under $400 if you shop around (I got mine for $375 including professional installation from an authorized dealer) and will make your speakers enchant like the song of Siren while lifting your car roof with powerful, yet accurate. Your subwoofers can be controlled in level, gain, and crossover on the amp, and can be adjusted for eyeball-shaking volume or acoustical perfection. The front channels also can be put on high-pass, low-pass (for even more subwoofers), or full range crossover, as well as the level adjusted.
In summary, the Z440 is perfect for any audio application, outperforms many amplifiers similarly rated, and you don't have to be sponsored by the company to be able to afford it. It is also fully backed up by the company with a 3 year warranty (most amps have 1 year or 2 for high-end brand names).

BTW I have a Honda Civic hatchback with one of these thunderstorms in it powering a Kicker CompVR 15" subwoofer and a set of Planet Audio 5 1/4" coaxial speakers, all on a Nakamichi CD-35z deck (about $900 total) and I've yet to run into someone who doesn't compliment me on the system.
