| Huckfinn's Full Review: Fuji Endeavor 4000ix Point and Shoot Camera |
The only thing better than a photograph from this camera, is being there in-person to see the subject of the picture.
After owning several dozen different cameras throughout my life, including a Brownie 126, a Kodak 110, and several 35MM SLRs (including Nikkormat, Yashica, Minolta, and Canon), and spending hundreds of hours in the developing lab, this FUJI Endeavor provides you with the absolute best photos you will ever see coming off a roll of film.
Believe me, I was skeptical. . .my first thought was "Is this the Next-Generation Disc camera?" I was very hesitant to purchase a new format of film - especially at the $500 ticket price, when I had a still-operational 35MM SLR at home. Another drawback when I was looking at new cameras was the size of the new cameras - it seemed as if everything went with the "smaller is better" philosophy. The Canon EPLH is no bigger than a credit card, and no thicker than the average wallet. I am a big guy - 6'6" 285 with BIG hands - those small cameras were not going to cut it. The FUJI Endeavor 4000 while not being oversized, is not a small "where did I put it" camera. It feels good and solid in your hands - and the design reminds me of the great 35MM SLR cameras that I had owned in the past - the SLRs I loved.
But something told me to go for it and try out this new camera.
I have barely put it down since. The camera has been with my family at every outing, every family gathering, every vacation, every time we go out of the house - this camera is in the car, loaded and ready for action!
One of the best features of this camera is the ability to change the format of your photo. Want to get EVERYONE in the picture? Switch to Panorama mode. Not a fake, camera-in-a-box panorama where they just crop the top and bottom off your image, this is true panorama where the image is wider than a standard 4x6-type image. You also get an HDTV-style image size where you get more width AND height to the picture, and then you have the standard 4x6-type size of photo.
The colors are bright , the images are crisp and clear, and the drop-in, no leader film loading makes this the easiest camera to use!
Thinking of buying a new camera? Get yourself a FUJI Endeavor series.
