I think we got a lemon

This camera is actually my Mom's and she gave it to me because she never used it. My parents bought it because they wanted a smaller camera than the one they already had that finally gave out after 5 years.
We have had nothing but trouble with this camera. It has been to the repair shop more than we've had it in the house. They keep fixing it and changing parts but the same problems keep happening. First there are lines on the tape that even the technician can't explain. Plus the sound keeps going out.
My husband's grandfather has the same camera and his works fantastic so we must have just gotten a bad one.
I really wanted to have this camera because I knew it was a nice camera. It is a nice size. It's very light and very easy to use. It uses the little VHS-C cassetes that fit right into a VHS adapter so you can watch it on your VCR without having to transfer it first.
