I had this system set up in no time an we were watching movies in surround sound before we knew it! With 100W per channel, the system is more than large enough for a decent sized living room or den. The subwoofer is especially nice, with automatic on/off and TONS of base.
The receiver is excellent, except that it doesn't support dts. However, there is Dolby Surround and Dolby Digital, as well as other DSP modes that you can choose to get the best effect. Optical inputs are a must with digital components, and this receiver has 'em. The remote is a universal type, but I found that it was large and confusing, and somewhat awkward when trying to control other components, like a CD changer or the VCR.
I'm not much of an audiophile, but this system certainly suppressed my appetite for a Home Theater System.
