The Qualcomm Thin Phone is a slim, sleek phone that is so cool to carry in one's pocket - you may just not feel its presence. The phone's features allow for a thin design with an internal battery and one can replace the external batteries without interruption.
Features:
Large, easy-to-read, 5-line LCD
4 lines of 12 characters
20-button lighted keypad
Any-key answering
Menu driven interactive prompts
Speed dial
Auto redial
99 memory locations for phone numbers
Call privacy with CDMA encoding
Short message service
Caller ID (need to subscribe, with carrier support)
Selectable ringer.
The phone can function as an alphanumeric pager (with carrier support) and one could also do e-mail, paging, stock quotes, news reports, airline reservations , sports scores etc. with the aid of proper infrastructure offered by carriers. With the battery charging and the phone off, the battery icon scrolls until the battery is fully charged. If the phone is on, the battery displays the level of the battery being used.
The phone also supports dual-NAM (number assignment module) which can allow you to establish accounts with different service providers in more than one cellular region. The advantage is that you may be able to avoid roaming charges if you make calls frequently outside your service area. Also featured ia a dial-shuttle key which allows you to sort through the data on the LCD display more quickly than using arrow buttons.
I own the QCP 1960 which is a 1900 MHz single mode PCS digital phone - this compliments the other dual-mode Q phone we have and I personally like this better. For both analog and digital coverage, you may prefer the dual-mode QCP 860 in the thin phone family which is a good buy as well. The phone weighs just a little over 4 ounces and supports upto 10 hours of talk time and about 17 days standby (with internal battery and optional extended battery).
The phone is available in a variety of colors and this may be a phone worth being possessive about - Thin is in..
