| dens's Full Review: Sprint Mobile Phone Service in New York |
I've had Sprint service for almost a year now and, for the most part, it's been nothing but bad news. I used to think maybe it was just my phone (Sony D-Wave Zuma - the tiny one w/ the flip down mic), but other people I know who have Sprint service suffer from the same problems. What problems? For some reason, my phone turns off a random times (I'll be walking down the street and I'll find out that it "lost service" and decided to shut itself off). I also have a hard time getting service whenever I'm indoors - anywhere. Once I enter a shop or a bar, the service is useless. Many times, friends complain that they can't reach me -- they call and call, but the phone never rings and sometime they don't even get voicemail (but rather some sketchy "service not available" message). The kicker is everytime I call Sprint, they tell me its because of a "downed tower". Who knows? I'd switch plans - but my $200 phone only work w/ Sprint's service.
That's my $.02. Just for the record, everyone in NY complains about their cell phone service. All the plans suck.. it just seems that Sprint sucks more than the others.
