| jmareci's Full Review: Sony KP-53XBR200 Standard Television |
I bought this t.v. to replace a much older projection t.v. I wanted to buy what I thought was going to be a "top of the line" projection t.v. in the shop this t.v. had a beautiful picture. It had a great picture when I first turned in on at home. It worked perfectly for the first month. Then I started having trouble with the picture. I started to get blurry. I called "Sony at your service" they sent a repair shop over to pick up the t.v. it was gone for 3 weeks. they said it was the tuner. It worked again for another 2 weeks, then the same problem again. Sony sent out the repair people again. Again they replaced the tuner. It still wasn't working properly. This went on for the next 5 months. In all it was in the shop 6 times in 6 months. The last time it was in for a month. I talked to several supervisors at Sony, who assured me that they would replace my t.v. that still has not happened. They replaced the picture tubes this last time but it still does not have a clear picture. Sony also informed me that they "wouldn't replaced the picture tubes again on this t.v. because I had watched too many DVD's" I found that interesting in two ways. first, I don't own a DVD player and have never watched a DVD on this t.v. and second, is Sony saying that their t.v.'s can't handle DVD's?
I am still stuck with a broken t.v. that Sony won't take care of. Their warrantee is a joke. My next step is to take them to court.
