Pros: Very nice clear TV quality image. Affordable. Easy setup.
Cons: Sound is a dixie cup and string affair. Funky right screen anomaly.

Hands down the sharpness and color of the images are better than the Eye-Trek 150. I tried the Eye-Trek 150 and the picture was grainier and bright areas such as clouds, snow, light on skin, sunsets etc were way too over exposed with obliterated detail. The i-glasses did not do this. Both models show the pixelation, but the optics are better on the i-glasses creating a finer grain that matched viewing a regular projection TV image or an active matrix computer screen. Though the i-glasses have 180,000 pixels compared to Eye-Treks 240,000, I was really surprised by the better resolution. Less seems more. I mention the Eye-Trek 150 because for $799 you would think you'd get better quality images.
I-O Display systems sold me a refurbished model for $200. It looked brand new. I should mention that there are less bells and whistles. I wanted to get the LCX2 which has double the horizontal lines, but the manufacturer seemed to feel that it wasn't much better quality for an extra $400. That's how nice they are at the i-glasses company. Curious. They did say to wait until the Spring when all video glass makers will be offering VGA quality video glasses for under $1000. The technology is about to take a giant leap forward.
Though the picture is much much better than the Eye-Trek, there does seem to be a problem with the right eye side. The colors seem to reverse in the corner like when you view an lcd screen from the wrong angle. I'm having problems with that. It goes away with bright scenes and reappears with dark scenes. My eye feels like it has lint in it. Annoying. I believe someone had the same complaint on the LCX2 which was also refurbished. I'll be exchanging mine.
There are no display controls, but who needs them. The manufacturers settings are just fine. The Eye-Trek gives you controls for contrast, brightness, sharpness and various color controls. No amount of fiddling with those controls could get the washed out look away. I thought I needed to pay more to get those display controls, but who needs them when the manufacturer does it's expert thing for you.
The sound can best be described next to the Eye-Trek as uninspiring as a transistor radio or the sound from your TV. Extremely generic dixie cup and a string sound. It's very clear and bright, but no real booming lows. But I didn't buy this for the sound. I bought it for the image quality. The sound has no controls except a toggle switch to adjust volume. The Eye-Trek has faux surround sound and bass controls and it sounds very good. I solved the problem with the i-glasses by putting on my regular ear phones after swiveling out of the way the adjustable ear phones that came attached to the i-glasses. I later plan to remove them altogether. The company showed me how, but cautioned it would void the warranty. For $200 you can't lose. I already have my home stereo component and now I have my video marvel to connect with it.
The set up is very easy. Connect the thin 18ft cord to your stereo video source and a forth connector at the end of this cord connects to the a/c adapter. By the way, Eye-Trek give you 4 feet of heavy cord. The power button and volume control are on the visor. Adjust the attached earphones over your ears, adjust the elastic headband to fit your head and your done. The visor rests on your forehead via a comfortably padded head rest. The Eye-Trek rests on your nose and in little time worries the delicate skin on your nose. The irritation I felt on my nose led me to distraction about my aching nose. With the i-glasses resting on my forehead I was less distracted.
Seems like with the Eye-Trek, you pay for the bells and whistles, but they skimp on the image quality. With the i-glasses you pay very little for great image quality, but they skimp on the bells and whistles. I vote for image quality any day and that's what I got.
