When I went off to college, I decided it was time to buy a stereo system. There are so many out there, that I decided to purchase a Yamaha system because that is what we owned at home. However, I did not know that Yamaha made a mini system. I went to their website and found the GX-70. I found it in the local Best Buy store, and I was very impressed. It was the quality that I expected it to be. So, I ended up purchasing this product.
I have owned this system almost two years now, and I love it. I have the system set up surround sound. The features of this mini-system are very simple and easy to use. The adjustable equalizer forms to my needs as a DJ. The sound quality is just excellent. Watching a movie with this stereo in Dolby Surround Sound is an out-of-body experience!!!
I have had only one problem with this product. The CD player was making a whining noise. However, I got that fixed, and the CD player sound just fine.
I love how this mini-system is so easy to use. I have only used the instruction booklet once, and that was to set up my system. The different "sound modes" are great! If I want my stereo loud, then I would put it on "hall mode" which increases the treble on my speakers. I can do that with a touch of a button. The only thing I dislike about this system is that the interface is not bright enough for me at night. It is kind of dim. Also, the bass is not deep enough at times. I solved that problem by purchasing a Yamaha Subwoofer (YST-SW100). Sound quality and ease of use are my two favorite things about this system.
I think any college student living in the dorms should buy this product, or even a married couple that needs a small stereo inside their master bedroom. This system has far out performed my other friend's Aiwa or Sony systems.
I liked Yamaha so much, that I even added a Yamaha subwoofer (YST-SW100)to my mini-system. This has made my system 10 times better! If you purchase this system, I highly recommend purchasing a Yamaha subwoofer to complete the system.
