| eric_mason_34's Full Review: Sony Ericsson T28 World |
After signing up with Pacific Bell wireless service, I was given the choice of getting a Nokia 6190 or spending an extra amt. of money, and getting the Ericsson T28 World. First off, after looking at the phone, i was amazed by it's small size and cool flip function. The spring loaded flip isn't just for decoration though. It functions as an automatic accept button, as you open the flip... Neat. Next off, the phone's versatility... The voice recognition is very good, as I can't remember once when it's failed to recognize my voice. (except when trying to use it on the freeway going about 70 with my windows down). I'm not going to get into the reception aspect of the phone, because much of this depends on your service provider and it's coverage areas. Pac Bell has the best service coverage in the LA area, and that's what I really only cared about... Inside thick concrete buildings, or where there is a lot of radio frequency interference, (computers, etc...) the reception is not very good... But simply step outside, and voila! Another added bonus to this phone is the addition of some very good time consumers... Tetris, and Solitaire. Both games well thought out, and great to fool around with, especially when you're waiting for a movie/class/friend/etc and are bored out of your wits. Simple games like snake and logic just don't cut it anymore. In addition to this, Ericsson has an FM radio attachment that doubles as a hands-free earpiece... There's also an MP3 player that's in the works. Both of these devices simply attach to the bottom of the phone and use the phone's power to operate the accessories. In addition, if you get a phone call while listening to music on your phone, the phone mutes the call, and plays it through your earpieces, which also have a built in microphone for taking calls... Now isn't that cool?? Imagine... Someday, we'll use these little things for just about anything. Until then, i'll stick with my T28.
