Great coverage, great deal!

I originally started up with the Lucent Technologies promotional plan from Cellular One because of the great great deal I was given. It took about half an hour of persistence, but I eventually built a custom plan that fit my needs for $49.99/month. My wife and I were given two Nokia 6120 hybrid analog/digital phones on the same bill with 550 shared minutes between them, which was the best deal I could find anywhere.
Cellular One has since been acquired by AT&T in my area (Allentown, PA), so we were switched to one of their standard plans and prices were raised. We're now paying $96.99/month for the same service and are more or less forced to keep it because our mobile numbers are the primary contact numbers for my home business. Not that $96.99 is all that much for the service that we're receiving, but $49.99 was much better.
Due to the fact that I live in The Middle of Nowhere, PA and the local phone company is a monopoly, we have extremely poor landline service. Because of this, we use the Nokia phones for all outgoing business calls and most long distance personal calls. Since we're line of site to the nearest tower (about 6 miles), we have full signal strength, even in the basement office. Even in the basement, we get Voice Privacy (encryption) enabled so we're able to securely conduct all business calls with the Nokia.
When on the road, I've yet to find an area without service. Since the Nokia is hybrid, it will hop between analog and digital signals automatically with preference to its Home service. The only places I've ever received No Service errors are heavily shielded buildings such as hospitals (where you shouldn't use a phone anyway) and deep in the bowels of the Lucent Technologies Network Operations Center (again, where you shouldn't use a phone). Even going through mountain tunnels here in PA and subway tunnels in Boston I've had extremely good coverage.
AT&T's service is also extremely feature-rich. Each phone has voicemail, paging and email paging capabilities and is extremely simple to configure. The AT&T voicemail is extremely clear and high quality with a robust menuing and navigation system with many custom prompts and preferences. Whether you're a voicemail veteran (like me) or a neophyte (like my wife), the AT&T system is intuitive and simple to navigate. The paging and email paging options are a lifesaver, making the phone a true all-in-one device, eliminating the need for a separate pager.
To wrap things up, I highly recommend AT&T digital services. Neither my wife nor I have ever had a dropped call and, no matter where we are in PA, almost always have a crystal clear connection. We will occasionally get a rough connection in The Middle of Nowhere, however no phone can get a clear connection out there. Comparing to NexTel Digital services and Cellular One Analog services, AT&T is the best I've used so far.
