The Echostar Dishplayer is essentially two products rolled into one. It is a good choice for someone who is considering TIVO (or other digital real time freeze/recorder/player) and wants to get Dishnetwork.
The product is considerably cheaper than buying a separate product to add onto your dishnetwork system. Additionally, it is always easier to set up one piece of equipment than two or more. Thus, by getting the Dishplayer you avoid having to run additional cables behind your tv. If you are hooking in your stereo, dvd player, and VHS player, it sure makes all the wiring a lot easier. It is also more compact than is a TIVO player or than having two pieces of equipment would be.
The dishplayer is a great option for those who want the digital recording abilities. It is a good choice for someone who wants one of the lower cost receivers from Dishnetwork anyhow.
For the price, but the dishplayer and enjoy the special features.
