This ia a FANTASTIC piece of audio equipment to add to your component system, especially IF you like to edit your music. Be it shortening or lengthening a track, the MiniDisc allows you the ease and speed to be able to do both, as well as TITLE your selections. It RECORDS up to 74 minutes in STEREO and 148 in MONO, and can record from either digital or analog sources. The best features for me are that the RECORDER is smaller than a CD player, and that the MiniDisc itself is small in size.....slightly smaller than a 3 1/2" floppy PC disc, and the disc itself is ENCLOSED in a housing not too much unlike a floppy PC disc......never allowing you to touch the disc and mar it up with finger prints or accidently scratch it up. You can also change the numerical oreder of the tracks.......if you want track 7 to be track 1, you simply move "TRACK 7" to "TRACK 1".
The model I have does NOT have a FADER feature, but the next model up from mine does. There is also a model that has "PITCH CONTROL" that allows you to adjust the speed.....think I will be upgrading to that one next.
I have had one minor problem having to do with the DOOR CLOSING mechanism, but other then that it has served me well for almost 3 years.
I highly recommend it as an excellent addition to your current component system.
