| tiggert12140's Full Review: General Reviews of Cellular One Customer Service |
I am currently an indirect dealer for Cellular One in Upstate NY and from what i've learned i've not been too please about it. I used too be a Cell One Customer since back in 1994 of course as anyone who lives around here knows our options at that time where very limited. Since that time i've tried varies other cell companies from sprint to verizon. One thing that i've noticed is the product that Cell One offers is their name and not much more...the minutes on the plans are very limited and a coverage area that places most major cities and roadways into a roaming area.
Customer service is nothing more then a game of patients. the people working it do not seem to have much idea of the product they are offering and if they lost their little notebook and easy fixs for customer problems everything would halt. The phones on the plans are priced higher then anyone else for a product that offers nothing more and in fact less then most other companies. To give you an idea you have the Nokia 5160 compared too the 5190 (VoiceStream)...both phones are for a nationwide program but because Cell Ones Technology is so limited and they would have to use a tri-mode phone (digital, analog, pcs) they charge you an extra $100.00.
Cell One knows exactly what they have going for them and i have too say where i've had a Cell One phone work i've had others that were useless (No Charge for Analog use) but i've found that i was paying more for extra minutes then i was for paying for roam.
The digital feature that they now offer is nothing more then garbage. i've found myself using analog more often to get a clearer conversation. On a full signal i've found more static, feedback, and cutouts then any other company.
To bring things too a close, Cell One is looking too the future (finally) by starting to build GSM (same system used in 90% of Europe) towers to give them a clear system. To anyone looking into a Celular Phone through Cell One i would recommend waiting...they know how to be the best again but its going to take a lot of work too get there...right now they aren't too high on my list of investment companies but i do see good things from them in a couple of years...just not right now.
