The eGo player is designed for use in a car or on your hip. Right now it is selling a 64 mb or 96 mb memory card. There is one expansion slot, but there is an add-on board wich lets you use two memory card slots. Memory type is CompactFlash II, an excellent choice because it is the cheapest, it has the highest capacities, and ot is compatible with the IBM microdrive (up to 340 Mb). Theorhetically with two microdives you could store an amazing 680 Mb (Imagine how much that would cost!). The firmware is upgradeable to accomadate new file formats. There is an external speaker, and a mic for voice recording. The LCiD intensifies in daylight, and is backlit at night. You can connect to your computer via the USB port. Power is either supplied by 2 AA batteries, a car adapter, a AC adapter, and it can even be powered by the usb port itself! There is a line out for external speakers (or to connect to a car stereo amplifier). Besides the basic play/pause features the software supports multiple play list storage and management, a real-time clock, and auto power down. It comes with a car windshield bracket (radar detector style), a cassette stereo adapter, two aa batteries, a cigarette lighter, power adapters with a straight and coiled cable, a belt clip, earphones, a software cd, ans a carrying case. The dimensions: 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" x 4 1/2". Price for 64 Mb version is $269 and for the 96 Mb version $329. Second expansion slot add-on $29.
