Making VHS the 8 track of my generation
Jan 13 '00
My husband bought our DVD player Valentines Day 1998 as a gift for me and I have loved it since day one! The only draw back in the begining was that there wasn't anywhere to buy DVD movies. Even Circuit City in our town didn't carry them yet and renting them was still a year away.
The clarity of a DVD movie is impecable! You will not believe your eyes. Even if you own a state of the art vhs player you will be amazed at how sharp everything looks. And the colors..oh the colors are a sight to behold!
I own a 60' Hitachi television and the DVD picture is crystal clear, not a little blurry like you would expect.
In 1998 DVD movies were OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive, $39.95 in most cases, but now thanks to some great web sites I get my DVD movies for no more that you would pay for a VHS movie. In most cases cheaper, usually around $12.99. If you are interested in buying movies for you player check out these web sites... www.bigstar.com www.dvdexpress.com www.cybergold.com.
My DVD player was the best entertainment investment we've made. If you're looking to buy one go ahead they are to movies what CD's are to music.
