Better Than Nothing!!!
Feb 04 '00
We saw the Polaroid Digital 320 in the Best Buy sale ad a couple of weeks ago, advertised as a two day special for $49.99. Well, the two day sale was over, but it was bugging my husband so he had me call & find out the regular price. I was surprised to find it was $49.99, so we went to take a look.
We looked at several cameras there & a great book they have that shows the pictures of the same item taken by different digital cameras so you can compare. Of course, the 320 wasn't in the book, they don't even keep it locked up under the counter like the rest of the digital cameras, but we decided to give it a try anyway.
It was $52.98 out the door with tax & we really think we got our money's worth. No, it's not the megapixel quality of the $800 cameras, but we pretty much knew that. But in good lighting it can really take a decent picture. My husband was really quite impressed & pleasantly surprised.
One thing you will notice after taking it out of the package is that it weighs next to nothing. You have to put the battery in it to really feel like you have something! It hooks up to the computer pretty easy & I've had no trouble so far with the software.
The 1-800 help line is extremely busy so if you have questions about it that are pretty basic, I would suggest going to their website first, as it's FAQ section is quite easy to follow.
One problem I have had with it is getting objects centered correctly in the photos. I've found it doesn't line up the same on the screen as it looks in the view finder. I'm not sure if this is an individualized problem or if others are experiencing this also. I have been able to make personal adjustments to compensate for this though, so it hasn't been too much of a problem.
