| generalg's Full Review: Infinity RS-3 Speaker (Black) |
For as little as $165 for the pair off of Mercata.com I was estatic to hear how the Infinity RS-3 sounded. I had visited Circuit City and tried to buy the RS-3's there but no luck as CC wanted a whopping $139 per speaker. Before having purchased the Infinity RS-3 speakers I had a Sony Home Theater sub/sat speaker system. I must say that the RS-3's out perform the entire Sony sub/sat system. I recommend these speakers for the surrounds on a Home Theater system. I'm currently using them as the mains (only have 2 speakers to speak of at the moment). I have attached them to a pair of Sanus metal speaker stands. The stands not only improve the looks of the already esthetically pleasing RS-3's but also makes them sound better. This is always a plus in speakers. Another added bonus of these speakers is the bass response and clarity. They do need a good "break-in" period of about 4 days of listening 3 or 4 hours per day. If you buy these speakers you will not be sorry, pay a little more to get them over their brothers the RS-2 and RS-1 as these speakers do not sound as good. Also, the RS3's use the same silk dome tweeter and 6.5" woofer as the RS5 tower speakers. This makes HT awesome along with surround music or cd music in general.
