a decent player with a few major flaws

This is the second mp3 player I've owned (the first being the diamond rio300). Of course this one beats the old rio on pure specs, it actually isn't so great. The best parts about it are as follows: the headphone remote, the fm radio, supports firmware upgrade, and usb connectivity.
However, there are some inherent problems (at least, with the model I got). First of all, it has no internal memory. This wouldn't be so bad getting to the memory card wasn't so incredibly difficult to do. Granted, you don't need to do so often, but it's located underneath the battery cover, which is near impossible to get off. Major design flaw. I would almost recommend another player altogether because of this alone. Second of all, the os the nomad uses is awkward and semi-difficult to operate with the controls on the player. Not super user friendly. My final gripe is that it comes with a usb cable, but other versions of the same player have a docking station with rechargeable batteries! A feature I think should have been standard, not something you can get for an additional $40. Sound quality is fine, though it could be a little louder.
In conclusion - if you can get it cheap, it's a good deal (I got mine for $50 with 32 mb of memory). Otherwise? Get the Rio500.
