A couple of months ago, I (finally) decided to trade in my clunky old analog for a more easily portable digital model. I chose this one primarily because it was right at the Verizon store and with activation, was inexpensive (important for a grad student on a budget). Since then I have realized just what a great little phone it is. It's not the tiniest one out there, but on the other hand, the keypad is large enough that you don't hit wrong numbers trying to dial in a hurry. 4.5 oz is certainly light enough for the average person.
It's also packed with features. I love the fact that I can assign a distinctive ring for incoming calls from given numbers with Caller ID. The phonebook is pretty easy to use. You're not likely to overwrite a stored number by accident, and you can search name and numbers either by the sequence in which they are stored, or alphabetically. All the menus are nicely done -- well-organized and intuitive.
It keeps track of all incoming and outgoing calls, and alerts you with a beep and unmistakable animated mailbox when you have a new voice or text message. You can set "key lock" so it won't do anything accidentally while stored in a purse or bag; or lock the phone totally so that it cannot be used without entering a passcode. Other features: adjustable key tone (so you can dial quietly or even silently), audible low battery warning, and one-touch emergency dialing. Actually, there are too many to list. Perhaps the best of all is how quickly it recharges -- takes less than an hour.
And yes, this phone is pretty sensitive. I almost never need to extend the antenna, and the clarity is good just about everywhere, even when the signal strength isn't ideal.
